Pulse shape discrimination in CUPID-Mo using principal component analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abstract CUPID-Mo is a cryogenic detector array designed to search for neutrinoless double-beta decay (0νββ) of 100 Mo. It uses 20 scintillating Mo-enriched Li 2 MoO 4 bolometers instrumented with Ge light detectors perform active suppression α backgrounds, drastically reducing the expected background in 0νββ signal region. As result, pileup events and small instabilities that mimic normal signals become non-negligible potential backgrounds. These types can principle be eliminated based on their shapes, which are different from those regular bolometric pulses. We show purely data-driven principal component analysis approach able filter out these anomalous events, without aid response simulations.

Pulse Shape Discrimination Techniques based on Cross-correlation and Principal Component Analysis
Two Pulse Shape Discrimination (PSD) techniques are proposed based on Cross Correlation (CC) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). In CC-based PSD, two schemes are proposed to discriminate between different decay scintillation pulses. The first CC-based scheme is applied to digitized scintillation pulses in time-domain with different numbers of samples ranging from the last two samples up to ...

Background & aim: Pelvic shape has important effects on obstetrical outcomes. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the etiologic factors that contribute to the formation of female pelvis and describe its variability. Methods: This study was conducted on 131 women referring to Saint Joseph Hospital, Marseille...

spectral decomposition of time series has a significant role in seismic data processing and interpretation. since the earth acts as a low-pass filter, it changes frequency content of passing seismic waves. conventional representing methods of signals in time domain and frequency domain cannot show time and frequency information simultaneously. time-frequency transforms upgraded spectral decompo...
متن کاملMultiresolution using principal component analysis
This paper proposes Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to find adaptive bases for multiresolution. An input image is decomposed into components (compressed images) which are uncorrelated and have maximum l2 energy. With only minor modification, a single layer linear network using the Generalized Hebbian Algorithm (GHA) is used for multiresolution PCA. The decomposition has been successfully app...
متن کاملPrincipal Component Analysis using R
This tutorial is designed to give the reader a short overview of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) using R. PCA is a useful statistical method that has found application in a variety of fields and is a common technique for finding patterns in data of high dimension. Consider we are confronted with the following situation: The data, we want to work with, are in form of a matrix (xij)i=1...N,j=1...
